Professional yet quality photography services

My wife and I went through a huge list of wedding photographers before we decided on MJK. I still remembered the first meeting; we found out that MJK was a recent startup by Jason and his wife, Mel. Jason was involved in the photography while Mel was in charge of the gowns and make up. When we were going through Jason’s portfolio, we were amazed by how free and easy the photos were and how he managed to capture the moment. My wife tried on their collection of gowns but could not find one to her liking. We were told that there would be new ones coming in a few months. True to their words, the new gowns did come in and my wife managed to find the gown she wanted with no extra charge.

Our pre photo shoot was done in Kundasang and the Tip of Borneo… it involves quite a fair bit of traveling. Jason and Mel were a joy to travel with. As these places are quite secluded, never once did they complained about the limited accommodation and food options and of course the long travel time on the road. My wife and I truly enjoyed the chitchat that we had during dinners. During the actual photo shoot, Jason did an awesome job in capturing the moment and making sure the photos were as natural as possible… just like how we wanted. We were not pressured to pose extravagantly. Jason and Mel made sure we were as relax as possible during the photo shoot. We definitely exceeded the designated hours but we were never pressured to complete the shoot within the allocated hours or charged any extra overtime. MJK priority was to get the photos perfect for us.

I really like how Jason will run through the list of photos taken in between shoots to show us the progress and also right before the end of the session, he will go through his mental checklist to make sure all poses was captured before leaving. At the end of the day, when we do leave the location, we know everything was covered. Before the actual day, I did highlight some photos, which I would like to have if possible. One of them included a night photo. Initially, I thought this was not going to happen and its ok as I never pressured Jason to fulfill that. I was pleasantly surprised when after dinner; Jason brought my wife and i to the beach together with his torch to fulfill that request ☺

After the photo shoot, MJK was prompt in all follow-ups and editing. There were no missed deadlines and quite often my wife and I were the cause of the delay due to our late respond to Jason. Nevertheless, Jason managed to work it out and still deliver us the product within the agreed timing without any hidden extra charges.

Choosing MJK as our wedding photographer was one of the best decision we made for our special day. We would highly recommend MJK to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.
